Apply now to give an Ignite presentation and be entered to win a free registration to the 2017 National Gathering!
Our 2017 National Gathering (March 13-15 in Kansas City) has a variety of great stuff planned—keynote speakers, testimonies, workshops, and more. We recognize that great ideas get transmitted in a variety of formats: long-form theological reflection, storytelling, small-group discussion… and in seven-minute bursts of inspiration.
Ignite is a feature of the NEXT Church National Gathering in which a handful of participants—that’s people like you—will give quick, tight, thought-provoking presentations designed to spark imaginations and get people dreaming and scheming about the church that is becoming.
Ignite presentations will be seven minutes long, strictly and light-heartedly enforced. Dig around on other Ignite websites (or Pecha Kucha, a similar format) to see how others have done it. Or, check out the footage from our National Gathering Ignite presentations from previous years!
Got an idea you feel called to offer to the conference? Want to raise some provocative questions for reflection? What’s your angle on this movement we call the NEXT Church?
What we’re looking for in a submission:
- Make a 2 minute video outlining who you are and the topic of your presentation (What idea do you have? What is compelling and interesting? What is happening in your ministry or community? What big question are you asking?)
- Upload it to Youtube, make sure you tag #NEXTChurch2017 in the title so we can find it.
- Then email it to us (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- Share it on social media using #NEXTChurch2017 to start the conversation.
Submit your pitch by January 15.
Want to see it modeled? Here is a submission we received last year:
We will select Ignite presentations early enough so you have time to create your content and whittle it down to seven compelling minutes. All Ignite applicants will be entered into a drawing to receive free registration to the National Gathering!
Decisions will be made based on the quality of the proposal and diversity of topics presented. Scheduled speakers are ineligible for Ignite.
What will you add to the conversation? Help us “Ignite” what’s NEXT!
