APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN TO FORM A COHORT!

ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

At NEXT Church, we know there is something powerful when a group of people from various backgrounds, contexts, and lived experiences gather to courageously engage together. The Preaching for Change Initiative stands at the intersection of what we believe and how we engage in the world in order to fully embody the radical call of faith. This five-year Lilly Endowment funded initiative will gather diverse cohorts of preachers and church leaders across the NEXT Church network who are leading congregations toward transformation in their communities, with a particular focus on justice and equity.

INITIATIVE NEWS AND UPDATES

The Preaching for Change cohort experience has expanded my need for self-reflection and engagement with critical issues of race and equity in our communities of faith. The materials and coaching are excellent and address topics with new insight critical to meet the current needs across our communities and among our faith leaders.
I value the opportunity to engage the full breadth and depth of my ministry with colleagues and vision and live into a world where justice and equity come to their fullest potential.

LeAnn Hodges (she/her) is a Presbyterian pastor in metro-DC, ICF trained coach, student of family systems theory, and former engineer.  She is the mother of 3, wife and daughter of teachers, sister of a social worker, granddaughter of small town farmers, and a lover of creativity.  She is passionate about helping people live into the fullness of their calling (hello enneagram 2!).  As a former engineer, she embraces a systems approach to leadership.  LeAnn believes the greatest challenge and opportunity for the church today is to engage in the work of dismantling cultures of systemic oppression by proclaiming the gospel of the one who came to decolonize empire.
