We believe God calls and equips local congregations for transformation by gathering people in Christ-centered community and dispersing them into the world to seek justice, peace, and reconciliation. Informed by that conviction, NEXT Church strengthens congregations by connecting their leaders to one another, to creative and challenging ideas, and to best practices. Sometimes that kind of connection happens far away — like at a National Gathering — but more often, the kind of connections that lead to real change happen locally, on the ground, when pastors and church leaders can meet together or meet with leaders from congregations near by.

NEXT Church Near You may take on a variety of forms:

  • a regional gathering to inspire and connect — borne out of local collaboration that NEXT Church will help structure;
  • a regional event with a specific focus, like officer training or Cultivated Ministry training;
  • inviting a NEXT Church leader to speak or preach at your presbytery or congregation;
  • inviting a NEXT Church leader to offer a leadership retreat;
  • inviting a NEXT Church leader to lead a workshop on the Sarasota Statement, trends of healthy churches, or a topic that feels relevant in your community;
  • creating a cohort for new pastors to your area, adapting a model that’s been shown to work.
