Equipping Congregations and Leaders
We seek to create spaces where people are equipped and empowered to embrace the intersection of their identity, as well as the identities of those around them, in order to create a more wholistic Creation. God calls and equips local congregations for transformation: gathering people in Christ-centered community, and dispersing them into the world to seek justice, peace, and reconciliation.
Antiracism Work
Healthy churches, organizations and denominations cannot truly be healthy unless they dismantle systems of oppression around them and within themselves. Because we believe this about others, we also believe this about ourselves. Therefore in all we do, however imperfectly, we seek to actively practice a posture of anti-racism and anti-oppression through our programming, our leadership, and our partnerships. We desire to interrupt patterns of oppression and create conditions leading to equity.
NEXT Steps Coaching
NEXT Steps Coaching can be a vital ingredient for healthy church leaders. In fact, most of us have had the experience of attending a conference and feeling excited to lead transformation in our communities — only to have that excitement dissipate as the daily demands of ministry set in. NEXT Steps Coaching is an initiative designed to support leaders as they shepherd their communities through real and lasting change.
Preaching for Change
This five-year project will gather diverse cohorts of preachers and church leaders across the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) who are leading congregations toward transformation in their communities, with a particular focus on justice and equity. This project stands at the intersection of who NEXT Church has been and the commitment to continually listen to the needs of Christian leaders in order to serve the Church.
NEXT Church Chaplains
In recognition of these unprecedented times of challenge and upheaval, we have a virtual chaplaincy corps who are available for virtual visits to any church leader in need. In this season in which so many of us are experiencing emotional challenges due to the heightened urgency around antiracism work, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the economic recession, we hope that these chaplains will be a helpful resource.
